Three Lessons Learned at Yun Bootcamps

Day 1: Three Lessons Learned at Yun Bootcamps
1. Intensity is the name of the game.
Intense is perhaps the only way to describe my first session at Yun Bootcamps. It’s rather embarrassing, but I only lasted 20 minutes!
2. Never eat less than 30 minutes before the start of camp

After putting in my full and honest effort, I realized you should pace yourself in these classes. Also, be sure to remember that age old rule to not eat anything for a half hour before you engage in physical activity. I never understood this logic as a kid. Let’s just say that after my first class, I remembered and learned VERY quickly.
Under Jason’s instruction, I participated in the most challenging workout I have had to date. As no stranger to exercise, my entire life was focused around physical activity in the form of dance and soccer. Endurance activities had never been a problem, but wow! When Jason tells you his workouts challenge all aspects of the body, he isn’t kidding. These workouts will remind you of muscles you never remembered (or knew) you had.
3. Take the time to cool down and stretch after class.
Well into the following week every muscle in my body ached! We did not have camp due to Thanksgiving holiday, so I spent much of my time hobbling around the house reminded by every step, breath, turn and laugh I took of the fantastic workout to come when class resumed. As painful as it was at times, the achiness was great reminder of that you were doing something good for your body, mind and wellbeing.
