AR awards two new scholarships each quarter to two deserving students as a way to give back to the wonderful Central Ohio community. <p>The workout will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, an organization that serves families with seriously ill children by providing a home-away-from-home for them during treatment or hospital stays. Past YUN FIT charity workouts have raised over $3200 for various causes and organizations in Central Ohio.</p>

<p>The event will take place on Saturday, April 7, from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m., at Dexter Falls Park, 5091 Dexter Falls Road, Columbus. Participants donate a minimum of $15 to join the class, and 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House.</p>
<p>Participants can expect a great workout for a great cause. One of YUN FIT’s qualified trainers will take the class through a fat-burning, interval-style metabolic workout that includes a dynamic warm-up, body weight intervals, and circuits featuring resistance bands, kettlebells, medicine balls, and more.</p>

<div><em>I have been what I considered fit and active for the majority of my life. I was proud of my figure and the way my clothes fit me. For the past 10 years I have drastically reduced my activity, worked a desk job, and changed my eating habits to basically one large meal a day. I didn&#8217;t understand how your body could go into starvation mode when you consistently missed meals and didn&#8217;t understand how I was gaining weight when I was eating so little and infrequently. As you guess it, my weight increased dramatically and my dress size increased with it. I have tried just about every diet there is from Atkins to the Cabbage diet. I would loose a few pounds but quickly re-gain them. I had been reluctant to add exercise to my regimen because of what I considered my more important responsibilities and an extremely hectic schedule. I first got involved with Yunbootcamps about a year ago and quickly saw results when I combined exercise with a change in my eating habits. I unfortunately quickly fell back into my bad habits of eating on the go, usually one large meal, and allowing my hectic schedule and other responsibilities get in the way of participating in an exercise regimen that I know works. I have reached a point in my life where I am now putting myself first. I deserve to be healthy, fit, and have the resultant energy. I deserve to fit back into clothes that aren&#8217;t in the double digits. I am not only trying bootcamp out again, I am incorporating exercise in my life and mixing that with a change in my eating habits. I will not go on a diet, however I will eat in a way that my body benefits from. My goal for this competition is to go down a dress size and develop a habit of exercise and eating that will cause me to continue to decrease my dress size.</em></div>

My time commitments, responsibilities, laziness, and hectic schedule were not going to change so if I wanted to see a difference I had to change, not only my exercise and eating habits, but my way of thinking about it. I incorporated workouts into every aspect of my life. Everyone knew that getting to bootcamp was a priority, including my boss!! I am truly confident that this contest and bootcamp gave me the jumpstart that I needed to accomplish my long term goals. I didn&#8217;t make it to class as often as I had planned but I over-planned for it so that I got at least 3-4 times a week in. I didn&#8217;t go on a crazy diet that would net me short term success, I changed how I thought about the food I was eating. I increased the frequency that I ate and made better food selections. I wanted to cultivate habits that I could maintain forever, and I&#8217;m proof that you can&#8217;t maintain being on any &#8220;diet&#8221; forever. It was tough, pushing myself past limits I wasn&#8217;t always sure I could push through. Today I am confident,  stronger, and I have more energy and stamina. <p><em>Then I got married and moved in with my in-laws. My husband inadvertently fed me a fear that any time I spent outside the house would be frowned upon by his parents. Gone were my after work workouts. Eventually, my convictions of eating right followed.</em></p>
<p><em>And the scale slowly crept higher.</em></p>
<p><em>It’s gotten worse since the birth of my two beautiful babies. When my 3 year old says she misses me, I rush home to her. I don’t want to miss a single moment of my 3 month old’s growth.</em></p>
<p><em>But because of putting everyone before myself, I hate looking in the mirror. I hate putting on a dress. I hate being in public. This is the heaviest I’ve ever been – it’s the heaviest anybody in my family has ever been. I’d rather not be holding this title.</em></p>
<p><em>I want to enjoy dressing up; I want to see my reflection without wincing; I want to stop hiding in my home. I want to be proud of my body again.</em></p>
<p><em>Morning bootcamp has taught me I can make time for myself without feeling guilty for it or making excuses. I’m hoping the Transformation Contest – especially the accountability of it &#8211; might help with the rest.</em></p>

<p><em>I didn’t accomplish all that I hoped to during this contest. I didn&#8217;t make the weight goal I&#8217;d set for myself. I know it&#8217;s a result of the sweet tooth that I indulge; I thought I could burn off the extra calories with exercise. Boy was I wrong.</em></p>
<p><em>I’d put all my faith into an online calorie tracker, not thinking it could lie to me. This went on through week 5 before I finally caught on that my food and exercise were calculating to maintain my weight, not losing as I&#8217;d thought. Wouldn’t you know, after figuring that out, I quit calorie counting. It was hard to re-commit to calorie counting after realizing those first 5 full weeks had been wasted. I kept up with my workouts, tried to increase my intensity, but my heart wasn’t as committed.</em></p>
<p><em>On the up side, I made a huge stride in what foods compromise my meals. I wasn’t big into junk food, but sandwiches made for me were easier than making my own; and if given one french fry, I would finish the plate. Now, I’m grilling chicken breasts and cutting up veggies every Sunday for my weekday lunches. It’s become a little ritual I don’t mind making time for. Thankfully that little change helped me lose some inches. My baby belly is still present, it&#8217;s stubborn what else can I say, but my legs really toned down allowing me to get into my pre-pregnancy pants. Woo hoo!</em></p>
<p><em>Even though I didn’t make my weight goals, I rewired my brain on meals. That’s something I&#8217;m pretty proud of.</em></p>

<blockquote><p><em>I have always struggled with my weight. I have spent some time at a healthy weight, but unfortunately, most of my time has been spent being overweight and even obese. I have lost 30 or more pounds several times, only to gain it back plus some. Currently I am at my heaviest weight ever and look forward to the opportunity to losing the weight—but most importantly keeping it off for good.</em></p>
<p><em>Right now, the primary motivating factor and the reason that I want to make a change now is because life is passing me by. I am constantly unhappy with the way I look and I dread events that should be fun, like shopping and weddings, because of my weight. I want to enjoy those occasions and I know I need to lose weight to do so.</em></p>

<p><em>The transformation contest was just what I need to get myself in gear. In the past, I always start out strong on diet and exercise plans but fizzle out by the second or third week. Although I began to fizzle out during the contest, midway through the contest I found out that someone I know—who is the same height and weight as me&#8211;was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. This was my wakeup call and I knew that I needed to get in shape. After that, I have become more committed to exercise and have watched my diet much more carefully. While the diagnosis was my motivation the bootcamps—both online and on location—were my tools to getting in shape. I am proud of what I have accomplished but I know that I have to keep working to reach my ultimate goal.</em></p>

<p><em>I completed the transformation contest  11 pounds lighter.  I decided to follow an elimination diet.  This eliminated gluten, sugar, dairy, eggs, soy, caffeine, beef and pork from my diet.  The first week was hell as caffeine was my drug of choice.  Since eliminating many of these foods, my heartburn has decreased tremendously, hot flashes have almost disappeared and I can fit it clothes that were very uncomfortable.</em></p></blockquote>

<p>Hey champions!! I wanted to take a minute to tell you how impressed and proud I am that you have all committed to <strong>YunFit “The Un-bootcamp”</strong>fitness program! If you haven’t joined us yet and just stumbled upon our website, check us out! Especially if you are in our geographical area. Now, I know how hard it can be to squeeze fitness into our daily routines, but to maintain a healthy lifestyle we must find ways to make the time now so that hopefully our lives in our later years are not plagued with medical issues stemming from the lack of exercise and proper nutrition. I know once I am retired, I want to be able to travel. Part of traveling is being able to walk and climb and be adventurous. It will be extremely difficult to do so if I have not taken care of my body.</p>
<p>I always say that I believe in the body beautiful. I am not saying that your body has to be perfect. I am referring to the gift of being blessed with a healthy mind and body. But, as tomorrow is not promised, neither is the wellness of this machine we call a human body. Unfortunately, accidents and unforeseen health problems are a part of living and dying. Therefore, we should all take care of ourselves today and not take one moment for granted.</p>

<p>I am serious about staying fit and helping others do the same. I believe that I have found <em>one </em>of<em> </em>my life callings by joining the ranks of trainers in the fitness industry. In doings so, one thing I have learned from those who have guided me and continue to educate me throughout this journey is “Knowledge is Key”. You have to arm yourself with the right information so that you waste no time or money on fad diets and workout routines that do not work. I also subscribe to the belief that in order for me to learn, I must teach. And by my teaching you, I will have a better understanding of my subject. I love to share my enthusiasm with anyone who genuinely wants to get in shape and are willing to trust and listen to what I have to say. But I also know that you have to be given all of the follow through tools from us to stay motivated. With that in mind, ensure that you are utilizing <strong>Yun Fit</strong> and our combined knowledge and talents to keep you on track. Also, start talking to others about your transformation progress. This will promote healthy dialog with family members, friends and co-worker that might, in turn, be the key to your success through better accountability. Don’t totally depend on us to be your end all, be all to a healthy lifestyle. We see you only a few hours a week. Take the initiative to educate yourself on these topics. Follow proper nutrition guidelines. And lastly, get in tune with your body.</p>
<p>Oh &#8211; by the way; since this is “real talk”, I am taking table salt out of my diet as a part of my healthy transformation. What are you changing this month? Little by little – make change happen.</p>

<p>YUN FIT, The Un-Bootcamp announces that assistant coach, Brian Bolibrzuch, a former Brutus Buckeye at the Ohio State University, has earned his Youth Fitness Specialist certification through the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA). The IYCA is the premier international authority with respect to athletic development and youth participant-based conditioning.</p>

<p>Brian is a 2011 graduate of OSU, where he earned a B.S. in Sport and Leisure Studies. He has experience in training youth athletes and is currently the assistant men&#8217;s soccer coach at his alma mater, Bellbrook High School. During Brian’s final two years at Ohio State, he was the face of the University, performing as Brutus Buckeye. In this role, he participated in the 2010 CapitalOne Mascot Challenge, an ESPN College Gameday commercial, and the 2011 All-State Sugarbowl. Brian has also appeared as Crew Cat for the Columbus Crew.</p>

<p>Exercise can make a world of difference in the lives of cancer patients. As they deal with the rigors of disease and treatment, many patients find it hard to muster the motivation to work out. Aggressive cancer treatment calls for periods of rest, but <a href="http://www.webmd.com/cancer/video/cancer-exercise">patients need exercise too</a>. Even a short walk around the block can have substantial benefits, including a better general outlook.</p>
<p><strong><em>The Components of Exercise</em></strong></p>
<p>The American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute and American College of Sports Medicine recommend exercise for everyone, especially cancer patients. The ideal regimen includes three components of exercise, even if patients get only a little of each.</p>

<p>Aerobic workouts improve heart and lung health. Walking, jogging, swimming and bicycling are common aerobic activities. Their intensity and duration depend on numerous factors such as patient age, fitness level and cancer type.</p>
<p>Strength training builds muscle and bone. Light weightlifting and isometric exercises offer good strength training activities. Some patients, such as breast survivors, must avoid lifting heavy weights after surgery.</p>

<p>Stretching keeps the body limber, and anyone can do theses movements. Gentle flexibility exercises are ideal for <a href="http://www.mesothelioma.com/mesothelioma/">mesothelioma</a> patients and others who are bedridden.</p>
<p><strong><em>The Importance of Exercise</em></strong></p>
<p>The American College of Sports Medicine stresses the importance of exercise for cancer patients. The federal government’s 2008 activity guidelines are recommended unless doctors advise otherwise. <a title="Federal Government Activity Guidelines" href="http://www.health.gov/paguidelines" target="_blank">[http://www.health.gov/paguidelines]</a>. Adapted exercises help patients avoid fracturing bones or stressing the heart.</p>

When someone is facing a benign skin tumor or a rare cancer like mesothelioma, they can improve their lives through exercise. Most patients can do a lot more than doctors originally thought they could handle, even on chemotherapy and radiation treatment.</p>
<p>Exercise creates energy and resists the fatigue that accompanies cancer treatment. It helps patients feel better overall, so they can face the physical and emotional challenges that cancer brings. Best of all, exercise produces a positive outlook and a better quality of life.</p>

<p>Most patients can do something in the form of exercise, if only gentle stretches or a short walk. When they are too sick to exercise, they need a break or a new exercise regimen. Patients should not be afraid to talk to their doctor or a personal trainer, who can tailor a workout program that caters to the patient’s needs.</p>

<p>So what does YUN FIT offer? Simple, fat-burning solutions that are proven to <em>work</em>! Designed and led by Columbus’ top body transformation experts, the programs provide structure and motivation to people at all levels of fitness. Not only are the programs simple to follow, they’re offered at several convenient locations and times in Hilliard, Reynoldsburg, and downtown Columbus. You can even participate online!</p>

<p>YUN FIT classes are enjoyable and effective. They include a variety of routines, including dynamic warm-ups, body weight intervals, and circuits featuring resistance bands, kettlebells, medicine balls, and more. Each phase lasts four weeks with a one-week break. A variety of specialty classes for varying levels of fitness are also available.</p>
